I don’t know if you’ve noticed but this white mini dress is definitely on the more feminine and girly side. So, I made it a little more grown up and edgy by wearing some cool sandals (that I borrowed from Laur‘s closet a few days ago) and throwing on a structured blazer which is pretty much one of my favorite things to do if you all haven’t noticed! Many have asked me if it’s possible to layer while in a tropical country — well, believe me, it’s possible! It doesn’t have to be a blazer or a leather jacket cause you can use a thin flannel, a vest or even a light cardigan! Take it from me when I say this, layering can be done here in Manila. It’s certainly something I love to do no matter what!
A little black never hurt no one, right? Most especially if it’s a look sporting this super awesome loose boho dress! Since this outfit was pretty much all black, I thought that it would be an amazing idea to add some subtle colour accents. Like adding a hint of gold with the help of my sandals as well as a bunch of accessories. Aside from that, I still thought it would be a stellar idea to add one more colour, which would have to be the hot pink lip colour.
Btw.. A little trivia for you all — that belt I’m wearing was once used and owned by my own mum! How awesome is that? I really do love it when things like that are passed down to me, may it be belts, bags, jewelry or items of clothing, it’s a cool way of getting to know someone by the stories attached to them.
Gotta love a little black dress. I’m pretty sure all of us girls have that one black dress that we always pick out from our closet. Most especially when we don’t have anything to wear from time to time. I can say that I have a good (and growing) collection of black dresses and this dress from the Cara Delevingne x Penshoppe collectionis the newest addition to my pile. I love how dresses like these can be worn from day till night just by layering, switching up my shoes and even my accessories. I wore my favorite Jeffrey Campbell lace up flats with this dress to give it more attitude and made sure I added some colour to it with the help of my Zac Posen bag!
So.. Joggers. Many associate this piece with something sporty, but allow me to change that. I won’t lie, I only thought joggers were only for sports as well. But that was up until I finally bought myself a pair! I can wear these when traveling, while running errands, going to shoots (or maybe even a chill meeting) and believe it or not.. Even while you’re out with friends! You just have to know what pieces to pair it up with. For this look, I wore it out to running errands — I picked a loose white polo to make things a tad bit more dressy and added some colour with the help of my beautiful boho bag and a pair of YSL Tributes. Now, was I able to help change your mind about a pair of joggers?
An aloha shirt is something many associate with the beach or tourists. I decided to break that stereotype and wear it to the city and in a city I am very much familiar with! Btw, here’s a fun fact about this top — I got it at the mens section at Cotton On! I haven’t ventured into the mens side of a store in awhile cause whenever I shop I usually look for just one specific item, I blame it on tunnel vision! Luckily, while I was out with my mum and sister shopping I was just leisurely walking around the store and found this on the rack and knew I needed it. I wore it out to lunch and dinner with my family, paired it off with a pair of cut offs and my favorite brown Fendi heels. I would totally wear a similar outfit at the beach but with a bikini inside, trading in my heels in for a pair sandals or espadrilles and I’ll be sure to switch my bag for a waterproof one of course!
