Shopping, drinks, discounts and great tunes all in one night? Well, that what the Style Steps Out event was all about. For those who don’t know, SM Aura stayed open till midnight and selected stores had their own thing or party going on that evening! There were major discounts, special free flowing drinks (sake, beer and even some delicious mixed Vodka drinks), and amazing music in some stores. I took part in a styling gig over at Joseph — I’m guessing you saw thispost and thisinvite, so allow me to share with you my amazing Style Steps Out experience!
What do I wear when I attend meetings and run errands? Well — here you go! I’d like to think that this look is a lot more mature than usual outfits, and I sure ain’t complaining! Since my look, seemed pretty plain I wore this gorgeous Mango jacket to give it a bit of color as well as add some lovely print and texture! But what meeting did I wear this to? Well, I don’t want to give too much away but, I’m working on a bunch of really awesome things and as much as I’d love to share what I’ve got up my sleeves with everyone, I’ll have to keep tight lipped about this for a tad bit. I promise to fill you all in on everything once it’s all done. But believe me, it’s definitely all worth all the wait, without a doubt!
Not many of you may know this but I studied Fashion Design and Marketing in SoFA for college. I was fortunate enough to have supportive parents who allowed me to follow my dreams and do what I wanted to do — and I don’t regret anything! So fashion design has always been something that has tickled my fancy, from sketching looks to coloring them in. But something I found to be really interesting was learning how to not only pattern garments but how to sew them as well! What I learned wasn’t your typical high school stuff, this was the legit thing. So owning my own sewing machine was something I wanted while in school. Luckily, I got myself one but it eventually broke (used it way too much really). Years later, Brother comes out with this brand new sewing machine and obviously I needed it.. Why? Cause I’m working on a little something that all of you will be excited about. BUT! Let me tell you about my new best friend! My new Brother machine.
Giving you a little bit of sunshine and color in this post because weekends at the beach will always be something I adore. This is also like the first of many summer posts you will be seeing in my blog. Being in a country with only two seasons, if you were to make me choose, I A-D-O-R-E summer. Growing up, as a family we would go to the beach every weekend, and we sorta do that still up until now actually! The site of the beach really gives you (me most especially) this certain calming effect. The fresh air is also an add on to it. Everytime I head over to the beach, it is the time I get to recharge. This trip I decided to wear this cool maroon top and this beige embroidered shorts. I love the maroon tussle that serves as an accessory of the shorts.
Last Thursday night, I took part in the Style Steps Out event for Joseph. I was given the stellar opportunity to wear one of their pieces to the event that evening, so of course I had to pick an LBD, more specifically their Matt Viscose Isa Dress!! I originally wore this dress out with some slip on sneakers before I had to switch to my heels for the event itself. I love how this dress can be worn casually and to a much dressier occasion. I wore my Givenchy bag to add some color, my Valentino heels to give my simple dress some spunk and even made sure to wear a statement necklace to finish up my look.
Okay, other than making sure my outfit was on point that night — I had to make sure that my makeup was just as awesome. Luckily, I was able to get made up at Mac just before the event! More on the Style Steps Out event real soon!
